L’Beauté Homme: You’ve grown up around film, fashion and music, but when did acting start feeling personal to you instead of just being part of your world growing up?
Raff Law: In a lot of ways, I feel like the two go together. From a young age, I immersed myself in film, theatre and storytelling. I was lucky enough to grow up in a family that really celebrated storytelling—how stories connect people, are passed down through generations, and can inspire others.
I always loved using my imagination. My best mate and I used to make little plays when we were about six years old, film them on a small camera and edit them ourselves. At school, I was always involved in plays, so acting became part of my life very naturally.
As I got older and left school, I realized it was something I genuinely wanted to pursue. What I love most is being able to work with people, learn about different kinds of lives, and explore different periods of history—or even imagine the future. That’s what continues to excite me about acting.

There’s naturally a lot of attention around your last name. Was there a moment when you decided you wanted to create your own path in the industry?
I wouldn’t say there was one specific moment. Over the last few years, it’s become more about focusing on myself and putting myself out there so people can see what I can do.
I always try to push myself, take risks, do things differently and avoid playing it safe. More than anything, I just focus on working as hard as I can, making the most of every opportunity, and continuing to learn and improve.

Your film How to Make a Killing mixes thriller, dark comedy and action in a really interesting way. What attracted you most to a project like that?
There were a lot of things that attracted me to the project. Masters of the Air had just come out, where I played an American mechanic in a World War II drama, so this felt like a completely different challenge.
I was already a big fan of the director, John, and of course the cast—Glen, Margaret and Jess. The ensemble was incredible. The character I play, Taylor Redfellow, is this completely over-the-top, outrageous guy who only appears for a short time, but I wanted him to leave a real impression and make people laugh.
There were also so many fun physical elements—from the helicopter and jet skiing to the karaoke scenes. For me, it was a no-brainer. I was excited to do something different, work with new people, and explore the balance between dark comedy, thriller and action.

How to Make a Killing combina thriller, comedia negra y acción de una forma muy interesante.

Looking ahead, what kind of career would make you feel fulfilled: big commercial films, independent cinema, music, or something completely unexpected?
I’ve reached a point where I’m trying not to have too many expectations or fixed ideas about exactly what I want to be doing. More than anything, I want to put in the work and collaborate with talented and inspiring filmmakers, producers, actors, costume designers and set designers.
It’s exciting to work with these large crews that become like families. Everyone brings their own skills and is there for a different reason, but we all come together to tell a story and make a project.
I would love to continue playing a variety of characters, and one day I’d also like to connect my music with a project. Of course, I’d love to make big commercial films. I’ve always been a huge fan of science fiction and fantasy, but I’m also a big fan of independent cinema.
At this point in my career, I’m putting my best foot forward, working as hard as I can and seeing what comes. Music is also very close to my heart, so I’m interested to see where the next few years take me. It’s exciting because you never really know where you might end up or who you might work with.
I have Kill Jackie coming out on Amazon in September, and I’m really excited to share that with people. I’d say it’s probably my biggest role to date. I also recently finished a series connected to the Talk to Me horror franchise, which was something completely different.
I’m looking forward to more of my work being seen, building on those opportunities and continuing to push myself.
