Lukas Gage’s expressive gaze, innate charisma and undeniable talent, have been qualities that have led him to have stellar appearances in successful series such as “Euphoria” and “The White Lotus”. Explore this creative encounter we had with the American actor as he reveals his guilty TV pleasures, his go-to skincare routine, and his desire to live in Mexico City.

The entire entertainment industry has faced rapid changes that have brought a complete reinvention in the way content is produced and how new talents are discovered. One of them, without a doubt, is Lukas Gage, a young man from San Diego, California, who has been part of two of the most-watched television productions of our time: “Euphoria” and “The White Lotus”.

His aspirations to conquer Hollywood are set to come true this year as he is about to release two films that promise to be blockbusters: “Road House”, a new version of the 1989’s classic starring Patrick Swayze, and “Smile 2”, the sequel of the successful horror hit.

That’s why we have chosen him as the star of our Hollywood Issue, in which he shows his versatility and eclectic essence in this interactive digital cover captured by the Italian photographer William Ferchichi in the heart of Brooklyn, NYC.

L’Beauté Homme How did you start in the film and television industry?
Lukas Gage When I was a kid, I had a camera and I forced the kids in my neighborhood to act in my films -laughs-. I also remember going to a film-focused summer camp, and when I came back home, I started to shoot many films. I directed, edited, and acted in them. Later on, after graduating from high school, I decided to give it a try to my career and that’s why I moved to Los Angeles. I took classes, paved my own way, and the rest is history.

LBH What was it like working on such major productions like “Euphoria” and “The White Lotus”?
LG Having roles in both projects was truly amazing. However, they were completely different experiences. In “Euphoria”, I had the opportunity to shoot with many friends and with Sam Levinson – the director – whom I had worked with before and was a fan. He’s such a genius! That’s why I accepted the role, as everyone involved was fully committed to the project. “The White Lotus” was a different scenario, as it was a project done during the pandemic. We were locked in, living in a resort in Hawaii without knowing what would happen to the world. It was one of those experiences I will never have again, and I feel very fortunate to have lived it. Not every day do you get the chance to film in an empty five-star hotel with Jennifer Coolidge and Molly Shannon!

LBH We’ve all witnessed how the entertainment industry has evolved; what changes have you noticed in recent years?
LG There have indeed been many changes! We managed to navigate through a pandemic and one of the largest strikes the industry has seen, forcing us to evolve. Actors have become cinematographers and editors when submitting our castings. Personally, I have learned and grown from the situation. It has been liberating for me because I no longer feel obligated to live in Los Angeles or New York. All these changes have given us the opportunity to live where we really want. That’s why I’m moving to Mexico City!

LBH You definitely should!
LG I will, I promise -laughs-.

LBH Can you tell us more about your upcoming projects?
LG “Road House” is set to be released soon, a film in which I share credits with Jake Gyllenhaal and Conor McGregor. It’s a new version of the original, the one with Patrick Swayze, which I am obsessed with. I’m also filming the sequel to “Smile” in New York. Overall, I’m trying to keep working with creative directors and smart writers.

LBH Any guilty pleasure regarding TV shows or movies?
LG It’s no secret that I watch all BravoTV shows: the Real Housewives franchises, every season of “Below Deck”, “Below Deck Mediterranean”, “Summer House”, “Winter House”. The truth is, all I do is watch guilty pleasure TV. It’s insane!

LBH If you weren’t an actor, what would you be doing now?
LG I think I would be a Reiki healer. I would love to move to Bali and learn more about it.

LBH If you could teleport to any place in the world right now, where would it be?
LG It’s a tie between Spain, Portugal, and, of course… Mexico City! I just love that city.

LBH If you could attend any music festival, past or present, which one would it be?
LG Fyre Festival, yes, the one that was a multi-million dollar fraud! I would love to see a bunch of influencers losing their minds on an island, eating only a piece of bread.

LBH What is the most used app on your phone right now?
LG I hate to admit it, but it’s Instagram. However, the second most used app, is Redfin because I like to look at real estate for fun. I type in a random city and check out the housing market. How much can I afford in this place? Can I retire in a state like New Hampshire? You know, that kind of stuff…

LBH: We are a magazine that focuses a lot on grooming and skincare. Do you have any special skincare or grooming routine?
LG I am obsessed with grooming. I try to use many tools for my skin and hair. like Jillian Dempsey’s eye patches and Biologique Placenta cream. Also, I believe nothing works better than a good ice bath or sitting in a sauna.

LBH If you could time travel to a specific era, age, or decade, what would it be?
LG I would say the year 3000 just to see if we’re still here. I would also love to see what Ancient Egypt was like because I’m intrigued by how they built the pyramids.

LBH What is on your bucket list that you haven’t done yet?
LG I want to go to Japan on a culinary tour and eat sushi all day, and I want to go to places like Kyoto. I want to explore everything! I want to explore every bit and go shopping.

LBH What comes to your mind when I say Mexico?
LG I grew up in San Diego, so I used to go to Tijuana and Ensenada often. I had the opportunity to go several times to an orphanage called Friends of El Faro. My acting teacher, Lee Kelton Smith, made it a habit for us to go once a month, or whenever we had the chance, to play with the kids and help rebuild the place. Anyone can look it up now if they want to donate, as every dollar counts. That place truly has a special place in my heart!
